The family rooms are small apartments inside the old dormitory: separate bedrooms, a living space, and a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. Where the other rooms borrow the floor's shared kitchen, here the kitchen is yours — which changes what a week in Kemijärvi costs and how it feels.
Between four and eight beds plus a sofa bed sleep a family or a crew of up to nine. The house rules stay the same: no screens in the bedrooms, stairs instead of a lift, and the northern quiet included in the price.

Good to know
- Digital detox by design
- There is no TV in the rooms — on purpose. The quiet is the point: books, long views and Lapland silence.
- No lift in the house
- The 1960 dormitory has stairs only. Ground-floor room 105 is fully accessible — no thresholds and a spacious shower and toilet room. Ask for it when booking if steps are a concern.
- Housekeeping
- Rooms are not serviced during short stays. On stays of six nights or more, a mid-stay clean is included halfway through.

- Welcome in rooms 101 and 102 for a 25 € fee. An unregistered pet in any other room carries a 200 € cleaning charge.
- Smoking
- The whole house is smoke-free. Smoking indoors carries a 500 € cleaning fee.
- Keys
- A lost key means relocking the door — a 300 € charge. The keyless entry code can't be lost.
Your room has its own kitchen — but the floor kitchens are where the house cooks together. Fully equipped, free to use, open to every guest.
A free evening sauna is part of every stay: women 19:00–20:00, men 20:00–21:00, daily. Want it to yourselves? Book the sauna privately for 50 € an hour.
